Davies Okarevu had his first degree in Surveying, Geodesy & Photogrammetry from the prestigious University of Nigeria and holds two (2) Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Environmental Management from University of Benin and Rivers State University of Science & Technology respectively. He worked in the Oil & Gas Industry (Exploration Sector) for about 15 years before he joined the Public Service of the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2004. Over the years he had attended several courses within and outside Nigeria in Strategic Planning, Public-Private-Partnership (PPP), Project Management among others in various Institutions like Lagos Business School, Cranfield University United Kingdom, Harvard University USA, American Management Association, Euromoney etc.


He has worked over the last 16 years with the Federal Government as a Strategic Planner and his basic function was to oversea the Strategic Planning function of the Organization he is posted to. He was one of the Officers that midwifed the Niger Delta Regional Development Master Plan, a 20-year perspective plan for the Niger Delta Region in 2007. He was also involved in skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development for youths and women. He carries out Planning and Budgeting functions in the Public Service Organization. Currently he works out of a State Office in the Southern part of Nigeria.


His passion for mentorship is unrivalled as he displayed this everyday in his dealings. He is the Chairman of Future Leadership Mentors Initiative, an NGO saddled with mentoring of youths in Nigeria. He is actively involved in community service in Rivers and Delta States especially during the COVID-19 Pandemic, where he pioneered various support platforms for the less privileged in Nigeria.


He plays chess, which he had been playing for over 40years, and he is an avid lover of the Polo game. He is a Knight of the Catholic Church and a registered volunteer of the Church. He is married to Angela and they have children.
